Finally, after another four months, the Prince was riding his Vejayantha chariot to the royal garden when he saw near it a venerable monk, as created by the devas.
The Prince noticed the serene appearance of the monk and thought of the attributes of monkhood, and came to have a desire to become a monk. He then returned to the palace.
