The Prince made an affirmation and discarded his hair

The Prince continued his journey and arrived at the bank of the Anoma River before dawn. He stopped his horse on the silvery beach of the river bank and cut his hair. “If I were to become a Buddha, may my hair not fall but remain in the sky,” thus he made an affirmation and threw his hair up to the sky. The King of the devas took away the hair and built a pagoda, named Sulamani Ceti, and enshrined the hair in it. The brahma Gatikara brought the robed made from lotus, and also a set of articles for use by a monk. He said to the Prince, “Prince, please make yourself a monk.”

The brahma took away the Prince’s dress to enshrine it in a pagoda, named Dussa Ceti, in the Kingdom of Brahmas.
